How Much I Miss Taco Bell

 

My Taco Bell New Year’s Resolution

At the start of this year, I made a New Year’s resolution that has actually been harder than I expected. I decided I wasn’t going to eat Taco Bell at all this year. It might sound like a random resolution, but Taco Bell has always been one of my favorite fast food places. It was something I would get pretty often, especially when I wanted something quick or late at night. I once had a 9-day streak of getting Taco Bell and it has become a bit of a problem. Because of that, I knew it would be a challenge, but I didn’t realize just how hard it would actually be.

Now that it’s been a few months, I can honestly say there have been a lot of moments where I’ve wanted to break that resolution. Sometimes I’ll drive past a Taco Bell or see someone else eating it and immediately start thinking about how good it sounds. There have definitely been times where I’ve been really tempted to stop and get it, especially when I’m hungry or just don’t feel like making food. It’s kind of funny how much you notice something once you tell yourself you can’t have it.

Even though it’s been tough, I’m actually proud of myself for sticking with it so far. It’s already been months without Taco Bell, which is something I probably wouldn’t have thought I could do before. It’s made me realize how small habits can be harder to break than you think, but it also feels good knowing that I’ve been able to stay committed to a goal I set for myself at the beginning of the year.
